Gourmet

The Grocer and the Gourmet, the new gourmet food market in KingsPointe Village, 61st Street and Yale Avenue. Linda Smalley, general manager of the market, knows the food itself is the No. 1 draw, so she's worked to create a full sensory experience for customers.

Greeted with the smell of wood-fired pizza, an olive oil tasting table with homemade croutons, and a cheese counter with samples of everything from an espresso- and lavender-rubbed cheddar to a Spanish Manchego.

The Grocer and the Gourmet is part of the D'Novo group, which includes D'Novo Lean Gourmet, with dishes with fewer than 500 calories, and the recently opened LXI, an upscale wine bar and small-plates restaurant. The space was formerly occupied by The Market, a gourmet grocery store.
